1964
(Sweet 16 and never been kissed.)

Photo taken the day after I'd received my draft papers.
Two days after this picture was taken I was on my way to HMS Cambridge, a specialist gunnery school just outside Plymouth, where I spent a month learning how to shoot things. Then in March 64 I was flown out to Singapore to join HMS Diana. After 13 months of punishing training, I was about to be unleashed upon the enemies of the realm.

Top speed 34.5 knots. (Approx 40 mph) A formidable sight when under full power.
Diana at speed.
